Cirque Du Soleil's OVO Opens At Atlantic Station On November 4, 2010

Under the Grand Chapiteau, Atlantic Station
(11/4/2010 to 1/2/2011)

OVO is a headlong rush into a colourful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. The insects' home is a world of biodiversity and beauty filled with noisy action and moments of quiet emotion.

When a mysterious egg appears in their midst, the insects are awestruck and intensely curious about this iconic object that represents the enigma and cycles of their lives.

It’s love at first sight when a gawky, quirky insect arrives in this bustling community and a fabulous ladybug catches his eye – and the feeling is mutual.

OVO is overflowing with contrasts. The hidden, secret world at our feet is revealed as tender and torrid, noisy and quiet, peaceful and chaotic. And as the sun rises on a bright new day the vibrant cycle of insect life begins anew.

Atlantic Station is located at  171 17th St NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30363. For tickets and more information, visit OVO.

The Hallelujah Girls: A Play by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten.  November 26-December 18, 2010 at OnStage Atlanta

Hilarity abounds when the feisty females of Eden Falls, Georgia, decide to shake up their lives. The action in this rollicking Southern comedy takes place in SPA-DEE-DAH!, the abandoned church-turned day spa where this group of friends gathers every Friday afternoon. After the loss of a dear friend, the women realize time is precious and if they're going to change their lives and achieve their dreams they have to get on it now! By the time the women rally together to overcome many obstacles and launch their new, improved lives, you've got a side-splitting, joyful comedy that will make you laugh out loud and shout "Hallelujah!"

Center Theatre at the MJCCA Presents Hairspray From December 9 - 19, 2010

Center Theatre at the MJCCA will present the hit musical, Hairspray, directed by Dina Shadwell. Running from December 9 – 19, 2010, the production will take place in Center Theatre’s Morris and Rae Frank Theatre (located at the MJCCA, 5342 Tilly Mill Road, Dunwoody.)

Winner of multiple awards, including the 2003 Tony for Best Musical and the Lawrence Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Hairspray sweeps us away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out – and change is in the air. Loveable plus-sized heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?

Based on the New Line Cinema film written and directed by John Waters, with book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman. Hairspray is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

For more information, visit the Center Theatre.
