Nicaraguans in Atlanta celebrated their country's Independence Day on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Interactive College of Technology. Over 100 Nicaraguans and their friends/family attended the event from noon until 4:00 p.m.
The program included videos and music highlighting folklore from Nicaragua, traditional folk dancing and typical Nicaraguan foods. Entertainment included a performance from Mauricio Amaya (from Vientos de Pueblo) and other performers playing traditional Central and South American music.
