Roar closely follows a lion pride in Botswana’s Kalahari Desert and will show daily through September 30, 2010.Roar is an ambitious tale of a true lion king. Filmmaker Tim Liversedge enters the lions’ world unlike any other filmmaker and rarely misses an exciting moment in Botswana’s Kalahari Desert as he follows a king and his lionesses. From a heart racing giraffe chase to leisurely rolling around with the cubs, Roar: Lions of the Kalahari keeps audiences of all ages awe-inspiringly engaged.
With daring footage, Roar tells the invigorating story of the animal kingdom. In the vast and arid Kalahari Desert, a lion and his lionesses reign over the only water hole within 100 miles, until a young nomadic lion begins to challenge the king for his territory. Arabia takes viewers on a journey through the lost city of Madain Saleh to uncover its ancient tombs; ride along a camel caravan through early trade routes; trek through desert sandstorms, and go underwater through coral reefs and historic shipwrecks that lie at the bottom of the Red Sea.

With the full force of the immersive IMAX® format, the extraordinary colors and passionate brushwork of Vincent van Gogh take on new life in the stunning giant screen film Van Gogh: Brush With Genius, showing in Fernbank Museum’s IMAX® Theatre from October 2-December 31, 2009.
Audiences will re-live Van Gogh’s life journey through his letters, visit the landscapes that inspired him, and discover a Van Gogh they never knew before.
Van Gogh: Brush With Genius—told with the stunning visual effects of the IMAX film format—retraces the artist’s journey from the time of his first canvases at the age of 27 to his death on July 29, 1890. Told from the perspectives of three main characters—Ellen Bakhuys, a museum researcher studying Van Gogh’s letters and notebooks; Peter Knapp, a documentary filmmaker, and Vincent van Gogh himself—the film covers the surprisingly short nine-year period of the artist’s career during which he painted more than 900 paintings.
